He has held leadership roles at several biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies including Baxter, Shire, Novo Nordisk, and Ikaria. He was formerly the Chief of Pediatric Critical Care at Oregon Health & Science University where his research focused on pediatric vital sign monitoring.
