Our Team

  • Prior to co-founding PyrAmes with Professor Zhenan Bao at Stanford in 2016, Xina spent nearly 40 years leading teams that transformed R&D into products. She has led teams at Bell Labs, DigiLens, Philips Lumileds, Cambrios, and Artificial Muscle. Xina holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Princeton University.

  • Will has over 35 years of managing product development, NPI, quality, and supply chains in emerging technologies, semiconductor equipment, and energy storage.  Will led production scaleup at Artificial Muscle and Amber Kinetics. He has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from UC (Berkeley).

  • Junjun comes to PyrAmes with more than 15 years of experience in statistical analysis, numerical simulation, machine learning, and model development. Junjun studied and modeled planetary climates at Caltech, where she worked on predictions for Nasa's Juno mission. Her PhD in Planetary Sciences is from Caltech.

  • Thomas has been developing data models for PyrAmes since our beginning. He holds a PhD in Physics from Harvard University.

     

  • Sid is an Algorithm Development Engineer with over 7 years experience in designing sensor fusion algorithms, statistical signal processing, sensor noise evaluation, filtering, and wearable health monitoring. He has worked on complex data problems for both large companies and startups.

  • Art has been bringing high-technology products from R&D to market for almost 30 years at companies such as Molecular Devices, Affymax, Artificial Muscle, and Parker Hannifin. He holds B.S. degrees in Civil and Mechanical engineering from UC Davis and an MBA from the Merage School of Business.  

  • Weyland has 20 years of experience in all stages of product development covering design, prototyping, validation, manufacturing, and quality testing. He has brought medical devices and wearable sensors to market through stints at several high-profile firms. He has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from UC-Irvine.

  • Alan's been developing software professionally for 30 years. Before PyrAmes, he was with Xerox PARC, Samsung Research, AT&T Labs, Sun Microsystems, IBM, and multiple startups in the Bay Area.

  • Doug has wide-ranging experience creating data, app and enterprise solutions. Among other roles, Doug led the West Coast operations for a medical device engineering firm. With an MS in computer science from Brown, he teaches in the computer science department at the University of San Francisco.

  • Bob has a long track record of developing successful medical, scientific, and consumer products at companies like ADAC Labs, Genesys, Symphonix, and Tripp-Lite.  He holds a BSEECS degree from the University of California, Berkeley and has done graduate work in several areas of neurophysiology.

  • With over 40 years of experience, Dave has worked on many projects in the electric energy industry and recently medical devices in the bioelectronics field.  Dave has a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Kansas State University and is a Registered Professional Engineer in California.

  • Dr. Noymer has spent twenty years bringing high-tech medical products to market.  He has served as President & CEO of Kedalion Therapeutics, EVP & COO of SteadyMed Therapeutics and VP of Product R&D with Alexza Pharmaceuticals. He holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from MIT.

  • Dr. Bao is the K.K. Lee Professor at Stanford University, where she directs their eWEAR Initiative.  She is also co-founder & board member of C3Nano, another Silicon Valley startup. Dr. Bao is a member of the National Academy of Engineering & the National Academy of Inventors. She holds a PhD in Chemistry from U Chicago.

  • Mr. Lim co-founded GSR Ventures in 2004 and made it one of the premier VC funds in the world, investing in early-stage technology companies operating in the US, China, and SE Asia. GSR focuses on companies that apply AI to drive transformation in Healthcare, Enterprise and Consumer sectors.

  • One of the most experienced VCs in China, starting in 1999 with Softbank China Venture Capital. He was a Founding Managing Partner at KPCB China and founded Keytone Ventures in 2008. Joe is passionate about identifying market opportunities in technology, mobile internet, healthcare IT and devices.

Advisors

  • Dr. Bao is the K.K. Lee Professor at Stanford University, where she directs their eWEAR Initiative.  She is also co-founder & board member of C3Nano, another Silicon Valley startup. Dr. Bao is a member of the National Academy of Engineering & the National Academy of Inventors. She holds a PhD in Chemistry from U Chicago.

  • Dr. Bhalla is the founding director of the Stanford Hypertension Center and is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Nephrology, and Hypertension.  Here in the heart of Silicon Valley, he also has an interest in developing novel technologies for non-invasive measurement of blood pressure.

  • Dr. Andre is a scientist, inventor, and entrepreneur. He is an expert in machine learning and is co-founder of Cerebellum Capital.

  • Dr. Goldstein joined CSL Behring in 2018 and is the Therapeutic Area Head for Hematology & Thrombosis and Executive Director, Clinical Research and Development in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. He was formerly the Chief of Pediatric Critical Care at OHSU.

  • Dr. Brodsky is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Brodsky is the Medical Director of Cardiovascular Services at the Beaumont Hospital West Bloomfield satellite location and has a private cardiology practice.

  • Dr. Corridore is Attending Anesthesiologist at Nationwide Children's Hospital and The Heart Center as well as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at OSU’s College of Medicine. His clinical and research interests focus on congenital heart disease and its anesthetic implications.
